a friend was kidding me yesterday about having our [ryan and i] own business or sideline so it got me thinking.. what's the one thing i'm good at which i could put to good use [?] ..and then late last night, it just hit me.. why not offer my "psp skills" to the public ?!! so here's my business plan.. i would offer dvd compilations of psp games. customers would get to choose from pre-made dvd compilations, custom-made ones or copies of the latest game releases. the prices would range from P100 to P200 depending on their order and best of all, their order/s will be delivered via Air21 free of charge! my services would spare psp gamers the hassle of going to cyberzone, st francis or greenhills just to have games uploaded [and in the process getting a pc virus].. purchasing expensive umd games.. or even waiting long hours for downloads to be completed.

I've always been fond of watching movies may it be projected on a movie screen, pirated on a dvd or ripped into avi, wmv or mp4. It doesn't really matter.. what's important is that you get to dream, use your imagination, leave your worries, enjoy the experience and hopefully, learn something at the end. Opening June 13

The Incredible Hulk
This is not a sequel to HULK. I believe this is a new and improved version of that film. David Banner is now portrayed by Edward Norton and in contrast to the previous film, Hulk will now have a nemesis called The Abomination, whose strength exceeds even The Hulk's own. Hence, this is one fight-'til-the-end I'd like to see.

The Happening
Another showcase from the renowned director M. Night Shyamalan, who also brought us The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable and Lady in the Water. Based on his previous works, I think this movie would also have its twists and turns.. something to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Might be pronounced as "Wally".. then again, I am not sure *hehe* Anyway, this reminds me of the movie I used to watch when I was a kid. It was entitled "Short Circuit" (part 1 and part 2). They both look a like but Johnny-5 looks much taller than Wall-E.. and he was definitely a real robot unlike our new friend here who is an animation. I loved the old film so hopefully I'd love this one too.

According to sources, this is the first (ever) narrative live-action film to be shot in digital 3D. Lucky you Mr. Brendan Fraser.. And so, if you want to witness moviemaking history (and adore "George of the Jungle" once again), I suggest you put this motion picture on top of your list.

I was getting ready for work this morning when an sms arrived. I thought it was Ryan but it came from someone not in my phonebook. Akala ko sa personal loan na naman *hehe* but here's what the message said:

"Pued po b akong humingi ng 2long sa inyo? I'm Annamarie, 21yo fresh grad po from bacolod. Gagawin ko po ang lahat ng kapalit na gusto nio, ma2lungan nio lng po akong makapunta sa mynila. Im willing to take the risks. My job hiring na po kc ako jan sa smc-ortigas, sayang naman po kung madidissolve lng.. My picture po ako sa www.annamarie.cjb.net -Anna"

Okay.. so that was creepy. I was like, "who the heck is this girl and where did she get my number?" Eneweis, I showed the text to Jerick and Kuya Rick.. curious kasi ako puntahan yung site but I was scared dahil baka may virus or baka porn site sya or whatever :oP Kuya Rick tried it first pero natakot din sya kaya ni-close nya agad yung browser *haha* and then Jerick had the guts so we waited for the site to open.. at ito po ang bumungad sa amin..

Hmm.. in fairness pretty sya ha. Pero what's her deal ba talaga? Totoo kayang "angel in despair" sya and she needs help o isa lang itong scam? On top of that, does anna marie really exist or did someone na walang magawa just made up her identity? I tried to do some searching sa Google and I discovered another girl who experienced the same thing. Here's her comment in case you'd like to read it.

For me naman, I think she should not be doing this (if fact nga sya) kasi other people could take advantage. She may be in despair pero there are other ways naman para matupad yung dream nya. E anu naman kung may hiring na sya sa SMC.. hiring lang naman, hindi pa naman sya hired :oP And besides, there are lots of opportunities for her especially kung cumlaude sya. Saka why not ask for help from people she know.. yung mga tiga-school nya or hometown.. I'm sure may mga kakilala naman sya. I just had this disturbing experience in the dept store hours ago.
I was browsing through some blouses deciding which one to buy.
Suddenly, this woman comes up to me and says,

"Miss.. san ba dito yung fitting room?"

I was flustered and speechless.
All I could respond to her query was a raised left eyebrow.
Realizing her BIG mistake, she quickly apologized.

Helloo??? Mukha ba akong naka yellow na blouse with matching blue skirt and makeup sa face??? Anlayo naman ata nun sa suot kong long-sleeved polo with black blazer plus dark gray slacks *sigh* (rolls eyes) Kasi naman.. tignan muna sana kung sino yung kakausapin bago magtanong di ba? O well..

clover'failed'

I am not used to doing movie reviews (or any kind of review for that matter) but I just had to (really really must) save everyone who hasn't watched this film yet (and is planning to watch it). My dearest moviegoers, BE WARNED.. If you hated the Blairwitch, then I'm pretty sure you'll feel the same for Cloverfield. I just downloaded a copy of it (piracy *haha*) and Jerick and I literally fast-forwarded through it. And for that brief moment, we knew how crappy the film was. Matt Reeves (the director) failed to awe us with his special effects despite the fact that the movie is about an attack of a huge creature. Most of the scenes even showed the actors faces instead of the monster (usually you'll just hear the so-called "sound effects" of the alien). And since the events were shot under the context of a personal handheld camera used by the characters, (tipid sa camera crew *hehe*) watching the motion picture made us woozy (sobrang in motion kasi sila). Lastly, the whole shebang failed to be on par with other Horror/Moster films.. Dapat pa nga hindi sya na-classify under "horror" because the plot *slash* and or scenes failed to scare us. Overall, I am truly disappointed with this movie. To think that I was attracted pa naman by their "mysterious" poster. Buti na lang we didn't watch it sa sine. So for those who still dare to watch it, don't make me say "I told you so" :oP

tara na sa panagbenga (day 3 of 3)

It was the last of our three-day getaway and we had to leave by 12nn. Nevertheless, we tried to make the most of it. By 8am, we were all up. I quickly turned the tv on to catch the live feed of the parade. Feb 24 kasi naka-schedule yung main event which is the parade of the flowers (kinda like the parade of roses sa U.S.) Luckily, hindi pa sya nag start. We still had time to eat breakfast and dress-up.
The weather hadn't changed. Umuulan pa rin sa labas pero makikita mong marami ng tao sa streets --patiently anticipating the floats. @ 8:30, the parade started at Session Road. And since hindi pa kami ready, we decided to watch it from Harrison Road (the road near Burnham Park). Tamang-tama nga yung pag punta namin dahil parating pa lang yung parade. But because of the crowd, we had to find a good place to watch. Yung tipong konti lang ang nakatayo at saka wala masyadong payong na naka harang. As you all know, hindi naman ako katangkaran so it's harder to see with all the people around *hehe* Anyway, we found a good spot naman and I was able to witness (and video) the amazing floats made of flowers. On top of that, we also saw a couple of stars.. si Iza, Richard, Jewel, Jodi, Jomari, Gerald, Kim and Angelica. Nakakatawa nga kasi after nung mga artista, nagsi-alisan na yung mga tao. At kasama kami sa mga yon *haha* O well, we had our reasons. We still need to go to the market and buy fresh veggies. After that, we need to go back to the hotel, fix our stuff and check out.
By 12:30, we were out on the road and headed for Metro Manila. It was a loooong trip back.. literally. We experienced car (fx) trouble kasi so we had plenty of stop overs. Pagdating nga sa Tarlac, we had to run at 40 kph then sa NLEX naman at 80 kph. Imagine how dreary that was. Fortunately, we made it home naman safe and sound. Gabi na nga lang kasi 9:30 na. Even so, this is one heck of an experience I'll be adding to my list of perfect moments *wink*

- Feb. 23, 2008 -

Not enjoying a sound slumber, I constantly woke up every hour or so. I'm not sure why.. It might have been the pillows.. the chilly climate.. or maybe the nostalgia --perhaps I just miss my own bed *hehe* Anyway, I finally decided to get up @ 7am and watch tv. I kept waking Ryan but he won't budge *sleepy-head* I knew there was a parade but I'm not sure what time it will be. And so, I called the hotel's front desk and asked for some info. He then told me that the parade would start at 8. Finally, sleepy-head woke up (and so did his friends) so we all had breakfast, took a (freezing) shower and headed straight for Session Road.

The parade's theme was "Street Dancing." It featured all the schools in Baguio and they competed in different divisions. I'm not sure who won but I enjoyed watching all of them. However, the guys in igorot costumes got my attention 'coz you could really see their butts *haha! dun daw ba tumingin*

After watching half of the parade, we then headed to Mine's View Park. There were lots of people taking pictures so I was able to get only one shot. I even saw Doglas, the adorable St. Bernard. Too bad we weren't able to take a picture with him though. Anyway, after shopping for pasalubongs, we grabbed something to eat and went back to the hotel to rest.

@ 7pm, we all went out to get a bite. It was drizzling outside but it was still a busy night. You could see plenty of people walking around. I guess they don't mind the bad weather after all. And so, after having dinner, we decided to tour the ukay-ukays. There were lots of stuff to choose from. There were pants, jackets, tops, shoes and even underwear *hmm 2nd-hand undies??...creepy* I ended up buying a tigger tshirt (i chose him over pooh) for a 100 bucks and Ryan ended up purchasing a brand new jacket for 500.

Just before retiring to bed, we found out that there was a free concert courtesy of Bombo Radyo (i don't know if i got that right). We then hurried to Burnham Park to see who their guests are. We got there just in time.. start pa lang ng performance ng Shamrock. So I got to see Mark Tupaz in person.. ang ganda talaga ng voice nya. Hayyy *dreamy* He sang their famous songs including the newest one, yung theme song ng My BF GF which is entitled "All I Need." The next performer naman was a rock band. Their group is called Join the Club. Honestly, I've never heard of them pero okay naman yung music nila. Ang kulit nga nung vocalist kasi bumaba pa sya ng stage at umakyat kung saan-saan. And yung drummer naman nila nahulog pa sa upuan nya *hehe* Anyway, it kept raining so we decided to go back and go to bed.

I just finished the work I left behind and had my fingers warmed-up.

So here's a detailed account on my three-day retreat to the "upperside"..

- Feb. 22, 2008 -

@ 3:00 a.m., I was up and running.. not my usual morning habit but we had to leave early. And besides, I was super excited (hindi ba halata?) so 3 hours of sleep was good enough for me *wahe* By 4:30, Ryan and I left to pick up his friends at the Balibago shuttle terminal beside Famers Plaza. We arrived at 5:30 and had our breakfast at Jollibee. We left the fastfood after 30 minutes and thus began our journey..

To cut our travel time, we took the alternate routes going to Baguio and we opted for Kennon Road instead of Marcos Highway to avoid the public busses. We had some car trouble along the way pero naayos din naman so thank God.. akala kasi namin hindi na kami aabot ng Baguio *hehe* Lucky for us, unlike dun sa isang truck na unfortunately eh tumaob causing a tolerable traffic near the city's entrance.. at may mama pang nag slide ang motor. Buti na lang naka helmet sya and he wasn't badly injured. Eneweis, despite all these mishaps plus the 4 stopovers, we finally reached our destination by 12:30 p.m.

We checked-in at Burnham Hotel and seeing the actual place (compared to that on the website) got me quite disappointed. Yes, the lobby/reception area was nice but when you look at the rest, especially the front and back (parking area) of the structure, you wouldn't think it was a hotel. Pag park nga namin sa likod, we thought we were pointed at the wrong direction. To make things worse, they adjusted their room rates and we were included despite the fact that we made online reservations a month before (when the rates were still low sa website) So yun, nagulat na lang kami because we had to pay a higher room charge balance. Eneweis, if I would rate the place, I would give it 2 out of 5 stars. SO for those in a tight budget who want a place smackdown in the middle of everything (making going to places easier), with a comfy bed but flat pillows, an antique but creepy ambiance (plus a few critters), a cable tv with poor reception, a hot and cold shower minus the "hot" every 30 minutes or so, a free wifi na hindi kayo aabutin if your room is in the 2nd floor, a carpet that's already worn out, and a lot of lamps na yung iba ay pang display lang pla (kasi ayaw bumukas) tapos yung iba naman delayed magbukas... THEN THIS IS the place for you :oP

Moving on.. we had lunch at SM Baguio, went back to the hotel to get some rest, then went out again by 5pm. Our first destination: Burnham Park. We paid a P5-entrance fee at the Market Encounter, looked around and bought some stuff then went inside the Landscape Exhibit. This is where we took most of our pictures kasi ang gaganda ng mga background *hehe* The designs were fascinating.. wish ko lang ganito kaganda ang garden sa bahay ko *as if*

After the short photo opt, we headed for the ukay-ukay. Nagtingin-tingin lang kami tapos we headed for the City view Terrace of SM and had dinner at Dencio's. The place had a wonderful view of the city tapos malamig pa yung hangin. Talo pa yung naka-aircon *hehe*

outreach 2007

We have done it again! *woohoo!* Last Saturday --the 26th of January 2008, my friends and I have fulfilled our annual "public service" to mankind.. well, not to ALL mankind of course, that would be too extensive and complex. Small-time lang kami *hehe* Anyway, here's how our went.

The rendezvous point was in Blue Wave - Macapagal at o-nine hundred hours. By 9:30, everyone was there except... us! *haha* Earlier kasi, our service (the fx) was used by ryan's family because they went to the market. And since late na sila dumating, late na rin kami nakaalis. Moving on. We reached Blue Wave at 10am --not too bad di ba? :oP Pasalamat na lang kami kasi hindi traffic pag weekend. So yun! We had one last thing to pack pa (the additional biscuits) so we wrapped-up everything first and began our "journey"

Our first stop was the Baclaran area (near Heritage hotel). Somehow we got stuck in traffic kasi yung pinasukan pala namin ay terminal for jeeps and buses *LOL* Nakalabas din naman kami agad and thank God hindi kami hinuli ng pulis for violating road rules *grin* And so, binaybay namin ang gilid ng service road until we found some homeless families near Chowking. Ang pinaka first naming binigyan ay yung mag-ina. Actually, nung una ayaw namin kasi pinapalo nya yung baby nya *wahe* Nevertheless, my friend gave her one grocery bag. Come to think of it, she received two bags nga pala kasi dumukot pa sya ng isa sa fx. Akalain mo yun? At hindi pa sya nagpasalamat ha.. Anyways, medyo dinudumog na kami and it was kinda scary so we left. Binaybay namin ang Roxas blvd. but didn't see any homeless people so umabot kami ng Binondo Church (anlayo noh?). There, we found lots of families staying at the plaza kaya marami-rami kaming nabigyan. A woman even went to the fx just to say thank you. Very heartwarming talaga.

After Binondo, pumasok naman kami sa Intramuros. It's a first for all of us kasi hindi pa kami nakakapasok dun. We saw some of the famous historic structures including the Manila Cathedral pati yung kalsada na made of bricks. May manong pa nga dressed as a katipunero. Para tuloy kaming na-time warp *hehe* Pero despite the historic attractions in the area, may nakita pa rin kaming families na natutulog sa streets. We all gave them bags (and they all said thank you) tapos we left na ulit.

Our last stop was the Luneta Grandstand. Like our previous outreach, dito na rin namin inubos yung groceries. Pero unlike the last time, hindi naman kami nadumog at natulak ng mga bata (buti na lang) At ang cute pa nga magpasalamat nung isa.. mabuti pa sya, hindi tulad nung nanay sa una (talagang masama ang loob noh? --haha!)

So there! That ends our humanitarian experience. Yung next po kasi doon ay birthday treat na ng friends ko sa MOA kaya hindi ko na kwento yun *hehe* By the way, thank you to those kind people na nag-donate. Sana hindi lang three-fold ang ma-receive ninyong blessings in return .^___^.

I am writing this post to appeal to those kind-hearted people out there.. If you feel you are one and you want to start the new year by doing a good deed, kindly read on *hehehe*

Last 2005 my friends and I started a pledge --it's sharing our blessings to the less fortunate. Every year, we distribute bags of groceries to the homeless people we usually see on the streets. On January 26, we will be doing the same thing. And so, I would like to ask you --my dear readers, for any donations.. It may be in the form of canned goods, rice, noodles, old clothes or cash. Basta, kayo na po ang bahala.. Any type of contribution will greatly help us kasi mas marami kaming mabibigyan or maibibigay.

Beng is my lovely niece, the daughter of Pinkie and Abel–(Pinkie is my sister). I’m amazed how many common things bind them together.

· When PJ was 8-years-old, he saw Beng as a 6-year-old kid and liked her already. (My gosh, that was 19 years ago.)

· PJ is part of the choir of his church, while Beng is one of the singers of our music ministry.

· Both of them are very loving to their own parents—who nourished both of them with great amounts of love.

· Both are known by everyone as moral, upright, diligent, and wholesome. (To some people, that means “boring”. To me, that means wise.)

· Both of them love the Lord.

They say that when it comes to love, opposites attract.

I admit that it adds sizzle, no doubt.

Partners can differ on tastes—perhaps the woman loves Italian pasta but the man eats only adobo and paksiw. Partners can differ on the best way to spend their weekend—perhaps he likes mountain climbing but she likes answering sudoku at home. Partners can differ in personality—perhaps he likes to listen and she likes to talk.

All these differences are fine. They can complement each other.

But at the end of the day, it’s the COMMON things that will HELP hold a marriage together. Especially (1) common values, (2) common vision, and (3) common passions.

I know this post is four days late but.. what the heck *hehe*

Last December 21, our Annual Christmas party was held at the Luna Gardens, Rockwell Center. It was hosted by my very own department *ehem ehem* and if i have one word to say about the event, it would be... SUPERB. Everyone *i hope (crossed fingers)* appreciated our decorations, enjoyed the games as well as the performances. To sum it up, i believe we all had a great time. Thank you for your very nice comments, the Research Team greatly appreciates it. We're glad our hard work and effort paid-off. Also, thank you for everyone's participation (especially to the performers).. I say its what made our party alive and memorable. Losing someone you love is hard.. and it's harder when she's part of your family. I know my other lolos and lolas have passed away but this is quite different. It's the first time I have actually seen someone pass away. Nung nawala kasi yung ibang lolo at lola ko eh bata pa ako. I think I wasn't even born yet. Anyway, I was not that close to my lola unlike my older sister and I only have vague memories of our time spent together.. Nevertheless, I will surely miss her. Wala na kasing sasama sa akin sa zoo tapos magpapa-picture infront of the giraffe.. wala na ring iiyak dahil biniro sya ni mama na nag asawa na ako *hehe* at wala na ding kamukha ni asia agcaolli nung dalaga pa sya (.^__^.) Hayy.. nakakalungkot talaga.. Pero better na rin kesa yung nasa hospital sya and nahihirapan. I'm glad my grandma was finally relieved of her suffering. I know she's in a better place right now, watching over us. So to you my beloved grandma... thank you for the love, time and care you gave us. This eulogy is for you...

I have already been to 2 wakes in just 2 weeks and it's kind of depressing. Honestly speaking, I'm not used to this kind of things. I know only a few people and most of them are still alive and kicking *fortunately*. However, these past weeks have been different. Two, somehow-close-to-me persons have already passed away --my friend's mom and a neighborhood friend. It's old news that they have cancer and are about to leave this earth but it still shocks you when they finally say goodbye.

Personally, I am afraid of dying. Well, not me dying but them.. those people that are so close to me. I guess I just wouldn't bear the separation. You know, not being able to see or hear from them forever. It's like losing a big part of your life that you got used to. It makes you feel kinda empty or incomplete. Then again, after hearing the short speech during a service for my friend's mother, I had this new outlook of death. She was right you know.. "living and dying are both blessings." You live in order to achieve what you can, do what you must and be what you can be using what God has given you --the talent, the knowledge, His teachings and of course, the life. He wants us to celebrate life. On the other hand, I think He also wants us to celebrate death. Not celebrate as in have parties and the like, but be happy for the person who "left." It's true that he/she won't be walking this earth anymore, won't be able to enjoy the things that we do, etc. but if we look closely, that person is even happier than us. He/she is in paradise with our Maker where there's no sickness, suffering, death nor debt. What else could be way uber than that??? So you see, we shouldn't mourn or be worried so much for the departed especially if they have lived a good life. I'm pretty sure they're happy where they are and someday we will get to be with them again.

To my dear friend *wala kasi akong masyadong nasulat dun sa card namin syo --hehe*... I can't say I feel what you're feeling right now but I do extend my deepest sympathies. You have indeed experienced a great loss but I want you to know that everything has a reason.. God has His reason. I'm not sure what it is but let's just be thankful that your mom is finally relieved of her suffering and that she is very much happy with the Lord. She is at peace now and I don't think she would want to see that frown on your face nor tear from your eye. Anyways, I will continue to pray for you and your family. I'm sure you can surpass this ordeal. In case you need support, keep in mind that your pretty friends are always here.. and we'll always love you no matter what *hugs*

going loco over roco

As you all, I have this newly acquired knowledge of PSPs. Well, out of the hundred games out there, I play this one game called Loco Roco. Why? Because it's sooo addicting, it drives me nuts! And yellow Roco is so cute!

The objective of the game is plain and simple.. it's to gather all 20 loco rocos or as many as you can find. You start with one loco roco just like the one on the right then as you roll across the terrain and find others, they end up looking like this

Cute huh? I really love it when they're bouncing around.. but I love it most when they sing in a chorus. They sing this insanely catchy song. At first I thought it was in Italian, but then I found out that it was just a made-up language. a run through of the 35days gone by

Wow.. I didn't think it would take me more than a month before I could update this blog *ehe* So sorry about that. Certain things got me pretty well preoccupied. Anyways, I have a lot of catching up to do. A lot has happened during those 35 days and I would try my best to cramp them all in one post. Here goes...

To begin with, our department had this new "routine" at work. It involves having a change in work schedule from 8:30am-5:30pm to 8am-5pm . As you all know, I have always been late so this is definitely not a good thing for me. However, everything turned out to be quite different because I was on time ever since. I can't explain why but I sure am happy about it *grin* Apart from that, we also had this daily work schedule and progress report that reflects the number of hours we spend on working. So you see, updating my blog is not exactly something I could add there.

Next in line is my undying addiction to dvd's. Before, I only watch CSI, Lost, Prisonbreak and Dr. House.. Now, my list has grown and my current record of dvd marathons include: N.C.I.S season 1 - 3, Numbers season 1 - 2, Criminal Minds, The Closer, and Cold Case. I also have Without A Trace season 1 - 3 but I haven't started watching it yet.

Next and almost tantamount to that is my newly acquired "wisdom" about game consoles, specifically the play station portable or Sony PSP *wahehe* I was able to master the process of installing games which would cost a 100 bucks each if you go to Greenhills and P2,500 - 3,000 each if you decide to purchase the real stuff which is in a UMD disk. I have yet to learn the "art" of downgrading the version of a PSP which would cost P1,700 if you have it done in a mall so wish me luck. I believe I could earn from this someday *wink*

Then follows our annual physical exam and bowling tournament held last Oct 4 and 13 respectively. Let's start with the physical exam. There's nothing much about it except from the part where the doctor felt something in my right breast so I had to go to a surgeon who turns out to be a "He" and has to examine my breasts again. After that, I had to undergo a breast ultrasound twice where the doctors discovered a pea-sized cyst in my left breast. Good news is, it's just a hormonal cyst and it's not benign *whew* Now let's proceed to our bowling tournament. Well, our team didn't win but I was able to score 133 points in the first game. I was ecstatic because I was even higher than the guys in my team. This was an achievement for me although I got low scores in the games that followed kasi hindi naman talaga ako bowler. However next season, I hope to do better pa.

Moving on.. I had this back pain that bugged me for 4 days. It was the result of a "harutan" last saturday. Ryan was playing with the PSP and my head was on his lap. He was wearing a jersey and since I had nothing progressive to do, I started pulling the hairs in his armpit *hehehe* To make the story short, he responded by tickling me non-stop making me fall off the couch. Thus, the back pain. Don't worry, the PSP is safe *wahe* :-P

Lastly, I'm proud to say that Ryan and I were able to start a small business of our own. We sell meriendas like siomai, fish ball, quail eggs, mami, siopao and the like. It's doing quite well actually .^____^. and we plan to add more to our menu. Do you have any suggestions??? Orders maybe??? *hehe* Anyway, our next project would be to start an eload business nga pala so sakin na lang kayo magpa-eload next time ha!

This post is about my friend and her current romantic escapade. Of course, there's no way I'm telling you who she is. She might kill me *so let it go*

It's amusing how different she is right now. I'm not used to seeing her like this.. you know, kinikilig and stuff. Yes, she did have crushes back in college *whoops. now that's a clue..hehe* pero parang mababaw lang yun. This time it's way different.. much serious I guess. I think she really fell hard for this guy.. talagang she was swept off her feet lalo na nung nag-meet sila. Aakalain mo ngang ngayon lang sya nag-dalaga. Nakakatuwa nga eh. Yung na-e-experience nya ata ngayon eh nung highschool ko pa naranasan. A late bloomer perhaps? *hehe* Hmm.. kung late bloomer man sya eh grabeng pagka-late na ito friend. Ang tanda mo na eh.. ngayon ka pa nag-landi??? *wahehe* :oP

To you my dearest, I just want you to know that I'm happy for you.. we all are. I hope he's truly the one for you.. the man who will make you happy, love you unconditionally and always make you blush *hehe*. I know you deserve the best. However, I also want you to keep in mind na temporary lang ang falling inlove. Whatever you're feeling right now, someday it will subside.. and that's when true love begins. I just wish you both reach that point and continue to hold on to each other through thick and thin. And kung mangyari yun, sabihin mo keh Paul *uyy another clue --wahe* na dun ko na lang sya sasaluduhan. Ok ba? *wink* So! When do we get to meet him?!! *paulit-ulit ko ng tanong yan ah --hehe*

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to meet this guy. He sounds weird eh.. Weird nga siguro kasi he made my friend feel this way. Wala pang nakakagawa nun.eh *hehe* And I heard he looks like Paolo Contis *bah, artistahin --wahe* and gentleman daw at saka sweet *naks* Hmm.. kaya naman pla. Aber, to see is to believe na lang :oP

life's simple pleasures

It's been a while since I've written something and until now, I can't seem to get a clear head. I'm not sure if it's because nothing comes to mind that's worth writing about or there's lots of things to write about yet I can't think of what I'm going to say. Hmm... this is very tragic. O well, I guess this might jumpstart my brain cells. Here goes..

Instructions: Name ten of life's simple pleasures that you like the most, then pick ten people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used.

1) arriving at work before 8:30am - I confess. I seem to have a different time zone compared to my other officemates. Our work starts at 8:30am yet I keep on arriving at 8:45 or 9am --sometimes even way past that. I keep pushing myself to get up early, move fast and leave home as soon as I can but to my dismay, I still end up being late. The long line of passengers waiting for the next shuttle service going to ayala, doesn't seem to change no matter how early I am. There may have been times when the line was short BUT it takes ten years for the fx to arrive. And so, it really makes my day everytime I clock on time. Added bonus pa nga is I get to go home early and I get to see Ryan kapag hinatid nya ako.

2) watching C.S.I - I can't explain it. It's a habit or craving I just can't shake off. It's like part of me.. my everyday life. Freaky as it may seem, but I watch 1 complete season of this series, 8 dvd's in all, in just 2 days. It doesn't matter whether it's Las Vegas, Miami or New York. As long as there's the capital letters "C", "S" and "I", I'll keep popping the dvd's in the player like clockwork until I reach the final dvd or until it's time to sleep.

3) having coffee, merienda or lunch at the pantry - Nothing beats a good laugh with the research department. The pantry may be too small for us to all huddle in, but we still manage to. Kahit patagilid na kaming kumain or meron ng nasa may sink, nasa may water dispenser at nasa may microwave, it's still great to eat together. Anything goes kapag sama-sama kami. Kahit anong topic pinag-uusapan. Kahit nandun ka, pag uusapan ka pa rin *hehe* Although the best part of it is kapag nandun ka, you won't feel that you're among officemates.. you will feel you're among friends --friends who will listen to you, laugh with you and share their meals with you.. kaya parang fiesta! *wahe*

4) being home alone - Yes I am a loner. *hehe* I dunno.. I guess I just want some peace and quiet even for just a day. It's good to sit back and relax.. do nothing, forget about work, escape from my problems for a while. It makes me enjoy life more and think of those simple pleasures I tend to overlook for the lack of time or too much worrying about the complexities of living. For others, this a rare opportunity. As for me, it's a blessing I'm thankful for.

5) having ur pets welcome you when you reach home - It's quite an obstacle because they're all around you pouncing here and there. You're like a celebrity being swarmed by her die-hard fans. No matter how long you have been gone, the way they treat you never changes.. para pa rin kayong hindi nagkita ng sampung taon samantalang lumabas ka lang naman para bumili sa kanto *hehe* Anyway, they're just so sweet. Nakakawala ng pagod. I don't think you'll find someone who's that consistent when it comes to adoring you. No wonder single people choose to have pets .^____,^.

6) eating pizza - I just love it. It's my favorite food of all time. Kahit anong brand pa yan --yellow cab, domino's, shakey's, pizza hut, pizza smile, lot's a pizza, french baker, greenwich or yung pizza sa st. scho nung nag-aaral pa ako, nanamnamin ko talaga sya 'til the last bite. For me, lahat ng pizza masarap. And that's a fact *wag nga lang yung mga weird flavors ha* :oP

7) making someone smile - Yup! I think everyone will agree.. It really feels good when you brighten someone's day may it be through a short text message, a note, a call or a simple gesture that warms the heart. For me, nothing compares to the smile I get for helping someone, making them feel better or happier. It's.. uhhh.. PRICELESS.

8) learning new things - For me, this is part of life. It may vary from learning to cook a new dish, do a new task at work or use a new software and so on. But whatever that may be, it still makes us wiser and grow more as a person. It makes me happy, proud and accomplished when I discover something new. And it's even better when I'm able to share what I know.

9) dancing - They say I have the knack for doing this. Well, maybe I do. Though I'm not sure where I got it from. My mom and dad definitely don't dance *hehe* But it's true.. I do love dancing. I miss those times when my friends and I used to peform during fiestas or join contests. Honestly, it's one of my frustrations.. If I would live another life, it would be as a professional dancer. Siguro nung past life ko dancer ako *wahehe*

10) kulitan with Ryan - If you know me well enough, there's nothing more to say. But if you don't... then fine. :oP This guy is the love of my life. Spending a moment with him is pure bliss. Yes, we do argue sometimes pero eventhough I'm mad at him, deep inside I'm still happy because I'm with him. Nothing compares to sitting with him, walking with him, holding hands with him and making kulitan with him. You know why? 'Coz he doesn't just make me laugh.. he makes my heart smile.

embed your own mp3 player

After 8 grueling hours of trying to teach myself.. I finally did it. I was able to master the art of embedding a flash mp3 player and make it stream my very own compilation of mp3s *whew!* Believe me, it was freakin' hard. But... lucky you *as always* 'coz you won't have to torture yourself anymore. So! Without further ado, here's a basic tutorial on how to embed an audio flash player. Hope this helps. Ciao!

1) Download all the files necessary to make your flash player work. Usually, there are 2 files namely: the flash player file, which has a .swf extension and the playlist file, which has a .xml or .xspf extension. Others, such as the player I used, would need another file which is the config.xml file. To download the files I used for the player above, just click here. Unzip then extract the 3 files I mentioned.

2) Rename the two .xml files using a different extension so you could open them using wordpad or notepad. For the config.xml file, I guess you'd know what to do with it 'coz the developer left a bunch of instructions to guide you. On the other hand, the playlist.xml file would need some work.. and a little help from me. Here goes:

When you open the file, you will see the tags annotation, /annotation, location, /location and info, /info.

Your song title and artist goes in between annotation and /annotation.. the direct link to your mp3 between location and /location... then the link to your song info between info and /info. Here's a sample playlist.

Tip: If you don't have any server to upload your songs to, try Image Dump. They will host your songs for free *no need to register* and they'll also provide you the direct link to the song so just copy and paste the link to your playlist.

3) After completing the final touches to your playlist, you're now set to embed your player. But first, be sure to change back the extensions of config and playlist into .xml.

4) To continue, upload the 3 files into a web hosting site like Ripway.com.

Go to My Files

Select Upload files

Browse for the 3 files

Hit the upload button then continue

5) Using wordpad, open, copy and paste this code to your blogger, friendster or myspace html template.

6) Replace the links in red with the corresponding links provided by Ripway.com when you uploaded your mp3player.swf, config.xml and playlist.xml files.

7) Save your template and voila! you now have your own mp3 flash player.

When You Fall In Love
(Debunking the Myths That Are Driving You Crazy)

Falling in love happens to the young and the not-so-young. (Did you see 42-year-old Tom Cruise jump up and down Oprah's couch because of Katie?)
It happens to everyone. Fat, thin, tall, short, intelligent, uneducated, holy, not so holy, dark, white, yellow, green... it doesn't really matter.

All of us fall in love.
And we get stuck in myths that drive us absolutely crazy.
My goal is to debunk these myths and convince you not to believe in them.
Let's begin..........

MYTH 1: LOVE WILL CONQUER ALL

Let me qualify.
This is such a tricky myth. Because love ----- as defined by the Bible ------ will conquer all. But love ------ as defined by glazed-eyed lovers ----- will not.

If you believe in this myth, you might do the following:

You overlook major obstacles in your relationship.

Everyone you know is wondering why you chose that creature from outer space as your boyfriend. Your bestfriends are telling you to get rid of him. Your family is telling you to throw him out of a running vehicle.
Aling Rosa of the sari-sari store across the street is telling you to lace his drink with poison.
But you won't --------- because you're in love. That's why there are songs entitled, "you and me against the world"
Your bestbuds comment, 'but he's been jobless for the past three years!"
And you say, "He's free-spirited. He feels boxed in when he's in the office. '(in other words, he's undisciplined, lazy bum.)
Your officemates say, 'He flirts with other women constantly!' and you say, 'No, he's just friendly.' (in other words, he's a pervert)
Your cousins say, 'He's taking drugs, He's got needle marks all over his arm. And you say, 'No, he's into cross stitching.'

You overstay in toxic relationships, believing that your love will change him.

The wedding doesn't transform anyone.
Even if three Popes officiate the wedding.
The person you'll march with into the church will be the same person you'll march with out of the church. He doesn't change one bit.
In fact, the marriage makes the hidden more obvious.
If he was selfish before he got married, he will be even more selfish after the wedding. If he was hypercritical before he got married, he'll even be more vile and prolific with his criticisms after wedding.
Here's the truth : You need more than feelings of love to make a
relationship work. You need mature character, total commitment and a minimum level of compatibility.
Especially compatibility in the area of values and mission in life. I hear people say, 'We're compatible. Our names begin with the same letter J. My name is Julie and his name is Julio. We're both born in July."
Wow. That's so deep, I want to cry.

MYTH 2 : WHEN IT'S TRUE LOVE YOU WILL KNOW THE MOMENT YOU MEET THE OTHER PERSON

I'm sure you've had this experience before.
You are in a crowded room. You're surrounded by boring, noisy chatter when, suddenly, this gorgeous guy enters the door.
Your eyes meet.
Instantly, time stands still. The universe grinds to a halt. Except for this attractive man in front of you, everything in your vision becomes a giant blur. The hubbub of the crowd becomes a soft muffle and, from out of nowhere, you here gentle violin music from the background.
One week later, he's your boyfriend.
A few weeks later, you discover that your boyfriend's a pathological liar, buried in credit card debt, borrows money from all his girlfriends (you're his eight in six months).
Your mind says, 'Dump him'
Your heart says, 'But it was love at first sight!' Here are the
consequences ...

You become so focused on the magical first moment, you become blind to the dark side of the relationship.
Six out of seven days, you're fighting with your boyfriend.
But you can't give him up because you met each other in such a magical moment. Your car keys fell and he picked it up, and then your eyes met, you smelled his deodorant, and you dropped your keys again ......How can you not be meant for each other?

You become a love-at-first-sight junkie that you could miss out on the 'real thing'.
One intelligent woman told me, 'Bo, there's this guy who's courting me.
He's okay. He's kind, he's responsible, he has a good job.......'
"I could hear a 'but' coming ," I said.
'but there are no sparks!" she bit her lip.
"No violin music playing in the background huh"

responsibility, ability for commitment, compatible mission and values..."
I actually met this girl again on her wedding, and before she marched down the aisle, she whispered to me, "Do you hear the violin music, Bo? It's loud and clear."
It doesn't have to be love at first sight.
In fact, marriages with the least adjustments are those between friends who've known each other for years before they realize that they're good marriage material.
What is love at first sight?
Many times, it's lust at first sight. Or infatuation at first sight.
Don't give it too much weight.
Here's the truth: it takes a moment to experience infatuation but true love takes a life time.

MYTH 3 : IF IT IS TRUE LOVE YOU WILL FEEL THIS WAY FOR EACH OTHER FOREVER

No, you won't. Here are the consequences for believing this myth :

You panic when the feelings wane, and wonder whether the marriage is over and whether you really loved one another in the first place.
Imagine the night of your honeymoon.
Your new bride is sleeping. The cotton curtains are gently swaying in the cool breeze. You gaze at her lovely face. You study her soft cheeks. Her long eyelashes. Her beautiful nose, her parted red lips.
And all of a sudden, she snores.
"Ngggggggooork"
How do you react? Because it's your honeymoon, you say, 'How cute.'
Six months down the road, the same scene transpires. Your wife is
sleeping. And the same cotton curtains are gently swaying in the cool breeze.
And you hear her snore.
"Ngggggoork."
What do you say?
"Ssssssheeeesh, Honey! You sound like a boat!'
What has happened? The feelings have gone. Let me say this: 'That's
normal. It happens to everyone. But it doesn't mean your love is gone so don't panic!
You can make a decision to love the snoring boat.

You start blaming your partner for the loss of love
This is nutty.
But many people do it: when we don't feel in love, we think it's the fault of the other person. And so we fight him.
Again, we fall out of love because we're human beings.
It's nobody's fault.
The moment you fall out of love, the real work begins .
Let me explain.
This is the most important point I'm going to make. (I got this from Scott Peck in his bestseller book, The Road Less traveled)

Falling in love isn't love
Here's why. When you fall in love.....
a. No decision is required. Falling in love just happens.
b. No effort is required. Falling in love is like.... Well, falling.
c. No hard work is required. Falling in love is being bitten by the love bug.

On the other hand, true love requires all three : Decision, effort and lots of hard work. In the Bible, love is a command. You make it happen.
Sure true love can only happen after you've fallen out of love.
When you begin choosing to love, even if you don't feel like doing it ---- that's true love. And that's the foundation of a lasting marriage.

MYTH 4: YOUR PARTNER WILL FULFILL YOU COMPLETELY

It's 2 days before my birthday and my mind's in a mess. I can't seem to pick where to treat my beloved officemates. I have 4 restos to choose from and I'm stuck between choice number 2 and 3. Why not choice number 1? Well.. it's kinda complicated *hehe* Anyways, I'm off to megamall right now to checkout Dencio's and Max's. Hope I could finally decide between the two or else hanggang merienda na lang ang department ko *hehe* Hmm...decision decisions decisions.

I rarely get sick.. as in sick, sick --the type that makes you stay at home for a couple of days, confined to your bed, and down with the fever. A few days ago, I DID get ~~sticked~~ sick. So sick that I can't even eat and sleep well. But it's not because of some virus. Nope-nope-nope! It's because of a small piece of barbecue stick that I accidentally swallowed and lodged to my throat. Creepy huh?

It was June 17 and I was on date with my beloved. He asked where I'd like to eat and I answered, "KFC!" I'd really like to try the new Chicken BBQ. It looks so yummy! So off we went and after a few bites or so, the horror began. After 5 grueling days (3 of them being absent from work), lots of bananas, buong rice, spoons of virgin coconut oil, 5 clinics, 2 hospitals, 2 doctors slash ENTs, an endoscopy, thyroid ultrasound, and a week of drinking antibiotics and mucolytics, I finally got better. Thank God it was over. Lucky for me, they didn't have to admit me in the hospital and cut my throat open *ewww*

Oh well.. it's another new lesson learned.
Never eat KFC's Chicken BBQ ever again. *LOL*

Ladies and gentlemen *ehem ehem* this is the new love of my life *grin* For those who don't know him, he is the star of the tv series, Prison Break ---another dvd compilation I just got from my dad *hehe* He plays Michael Scofield --a desperate man, on a mission to save his innocent brother from taking the chair.

He holds up a bank, gets thrown in the same penitentiary as his brother, then starts to carry out his intricate and ingenious plan of breaking Lincoln out. Will they make it? I guess they will. But I don't think it all ends there 'coz their "escape is just the beginning..."

Wow, I can't wait for season 2. I am totally hooked to this show! The twists and turns definitely keep me on the edge of my seat.. and I can almost kiss the screen especially with this hot guy's face focused every now and then *haha* You know, I'm not into shaved heads *no hard feelings to those who are* but he really exempts the rule. Those hazel/green piercing eyes are just to die for *swoon* and come to think of it, he's already 34 years old but doesn't look like it. Imagine, a man a decade older than I am?!! *geez* oh well.. if all the older men would look this good, age truly wouldn't matter at all ---and that would be a fact, not a saying anymore :oP
